Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

My Stepdad passed away a few years ago. He did make a will,but the lawyer creating the will had my mom sign as a witness. She is also the beneficuary. According to Louisiana Law this makes the will null and void. Is there anything she can do about this.

Any bequest to your mother in the will is void if she signed the will as a witness.

What you may have to consider is a malpractice claim against the attorney who prepared the will.
