Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

My uncle was made the court appointed executor over his brother's estate. The remaining siblings do not agree with all of his decisions. Does he have to clear anything with them or does he have full rights to do whatever is necessary?

As executor, he is bound to see that the deceased wishes are honored. The court has appointed him more than likely because there was no will. It should be his duty to see that all debts are paid and that the estate is appraised and given a fair value. He answers to the court. If there is argument among the other heirs, disagreements will have to be settled by the judge to whom the succession is assigned. Once the value is established, then the estate would be split according to Louisiana law. If it is real property, sometimes the only way to give each heir their share is by selling the assets.
