Unsecured bills like credit card

Do i have to pay unsecured bills like credit cards when my mother passes away,if i'm her beneficiary. Thanks

Under La. law, if an heir accepts a succession, the heir then becomes liable for all of the debts of the succession. An heir does have the option of accepting with benefit of inventory by which, if the succession ends up being insolvent, the heir can then reject the succession.
