Legal Question in Workers Comp in Louisiana

Worker's Comp

I hurt my knee at work on May 5. My doctor prescribed Physical Therapy to rehabilitate the injury (damage to cartilage), however today is May 22, and I have not been approved for treatment yet. My back started to hurt, as I have been limping since the injury. Do I need an attorney? How do I speed up the approval process? Why does it take so long? Thank you, Carol

Stay on them. In the meantime, call a good PT and tell them you have a WC claim and who the insurance is with. Tell them what you need and they will contact the insurance company and that will get them off their duffs. If nothing by next Wednesday, you may have to go to the PT and put it on your health insurance. You do not need an attorney at this time.
