Legal Question in Workers Comp in Louisiana

My husband was hurt at work a little over a week ago. The company he works for does not want to pay him workers compensatin because they say thay don't have the money to do so. Now he is out of work and we don't have any money for bills or even food. my question is what shoud we do?
