Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in Maine
An ex boyfriend is threatening me on a regular basis that he is going to take me to Small Claims court over a airfare, hotel tickets booked on Priceline, willingly by him, using his credit card, and make me pay him back. Before booking he said the ticket was a Christmas gift. I paid 1000.00 cash to him already, so he would leave my apartment. Does he have a case, can he make me pay the for even more of the ticket costs. I have text message proof, he said it was a gift. Will this suffice.

A gift never has to be repaid, even if the giver changes his mind.
Your ex-boyfriend has the burden of proving that the trip was not a gift. His own testimony would be enough to meet that burden, which you would then have to rebut. Tell the judge about your ex's statements at the time and about the text message, which you should print out for the court if possible.
I can't say whether that will be enough, since I don't know what evidence your ex is going to offer.
Good luck.
