Can a construction company who employs felons obtain a surety bond?

That question is best left to an insurnace agent who sells that product, but I cannot see why the employment of felons would matter for the typical types of bonds- ie- a performance bond regarding completion of the project or a payment bond regarding payments for the project, so long as the felons are working in the field and not managing the books of the company.
