Re: Copyright a name and logo for a business

The Maine Secretary of State has a division for corporations. This division is available online at the state's website as well as by telephone. The SOS maintains a registry of all corporations, as well as registered trademarks/servicemarks. There are specific forms that need to be filled out that are available from the SOS.

Are you already incorporated as an LLC or an incorporation to run the nightclub? If you are not, you should seriously consider it for liability reasons. I cannot go into too much depth in this internet format, but would be happy to discuss further with you if you would like to call me at 767-4824. I do not charge to speak with you initially, and corporate setup services are a flat rate. I regularly provide corporate set up services and would be happy to work with your accountant or suggest one if you do not have one yet.

I have assisted clients with registering business logos, and I have also assisted in protecting those same marks when others tried to infringe upon them, so it is important for you to protect them.
