Legal Question in Business Law in Maine
deposit for truck cap
I gave a deposit for a truck cap for $1200. The total was $1800. While the cap was being made, I won a lemon law for my truck and gave it back. Is the business owner obligated to give my deposit back?

Re: deposit for truck cap
I am not sure why you would think the cap people are obligated to give your money back after they have started to make your cap. Does the work order/invoice paperwork with the cap people give you specific rights regarding a refund or partial refund once the work has started? that is apparently the only recourse for you. The fact that you got rid of your truck has no legal impact on the cap people outside of your contractual rights.
