Is it legal for a 501 (c) 3 employee to receive a 'commission-like bonus' based on the success of their fundraising?

There are many issues implicated by your question that a phone call would better address, but assuming a true employee status and proper licencing for fundraising activity, the compensation needs to be reasonable within the marketplace. If the non-profit board approves compensation that includes a bonus to create competitive compensation for high quality talent, it is legal.
