Legal Question in Business Law in Maine
I purchased an extended warranty for my car. I paid $2000.00 the company has since either gone out of business or closed down and I am not able to locate them with the information that i have. Is there any way to get reimbursed for the services that i paid for...?? Do i have a legitimate claim?

If you have not exceeded the limits of the warranty and it expired only because the company dissolved, then you have a breach of contract claim. The obvious issue is collectability. With an out of state, possibly defunct company, there are not many options a private lawyer can help you with. Your best choice may be to contact the Maine Attorney General�s Consumer Affairs Division. They may have heard similar complaints and they may also have the contact information. Maine may require a warranty company to be licensed and the consumer advocate can tell you that.
