Unless the website contains child pornography, visiting it should be legal. It is possible, however, to visit it in illegal ways. For example, hacking your way into a site that normally charges for access so that you can visit for free would likely be a crime. Using someone else's computer without their permission to visit such sites might also be a crime under some circumstances.

Please note that my answer refers only to American law. If the site you visited was based in another country, it is possible (though unlikely) that you can be prosecuted by that country. My answer also presumes that you were in the United States when you accessed the site; if you were in another country, then you are subject to that country's laws regardless of where the website was based.
