Legal Question in Consumer Law in Maine
credit card agreement
my daughter has an outsiding credit card debt. she call and spoke with a rep and agreed on a payoff payment. she never got it in writting but the company has taken the first payment out of her account. she recently spoke to a supervisor who said the rep had no authority to make the payment payoff agreement. is this legal?

I don't practice in ME, but an attorney may be able to get the agreement enforced because the company has already taken the first payment.
