Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Maine
Dealing with Judgements
If several credit card cos. get judgement orders to attach our wages(which would devastate us financially)exactly what can hiring a lawyer do for us? In other words would it be a waste of time and money to get one?

It is hard to say if it would be worthwile. You may need to consider Bankruptcy and would likely need a lawyer to do that, and if so, maybe the creditors would agree to a reduced claim to avoid Bankruptcy. Also maybe a lawyer could be sure that any wages garnished are only in amounts above the statutory exemptions to protect as much of your paycheck as possible.
