Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Maine
i am on disability. I have charged over $12,500 in credit card debt just to survive and pay doctor bills. What will happen if I do not pay the credit card?????

The creditor will likely file a lawsuit and eventually receive a judgment against you. You will be required to go to court periodically to prove you are still "judgment proof (have no assets that cannot be protected under state law). The creditor may be able to attach your bank accounts and/or put a lien on your car or house. The court could authorize the sale of some nonexempt assets.
