Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Maine
i have an usecured loan that i fell behind on and eventually went to small claims. i have every intention of paying this off in monthly installments when i get back to work. i am wondering if they can come after my assets in the meantime?

Probably. If they get a judgment against you, they can request a disclosure hearing at which you have to disclose your assets. 14 MRSA Section 4422 explains what assets are "exempt" from attachment. Nonexempt assets can be used to satisfy your obligation. Answering the complaint may be a good idea; filing bankruptcy could be an option. Either way, you should consult an attorney.
