Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maine
i left a coat at a friends house in another state. i emailed them asking them to send me the coat and sent them money to do so and they agreed to send it. the person ignored me for ages and has now stopped communicating completely. how do i get back my coat?

You could travel to the state and ask for the coat back. If not success, you could file suit in coat to obtain an order to get it back. If his has purposely taken coat for his own use, such could amount ot a crime, but you don't really know if he lost it or what the real circumstances are. However, he did agree to take your money for a purpose and he didn't complete the mission so you may have grounds for a complaint.
