Legal Question in DUI Law in Maine

dwi was 13 years ago

For 13 years my husband declined to get his liscence back after 2nd dwi. Two years ago he fulfilled all state of ME requirements. They sent him a letter saying go ahead. We have now moved to alaska and they interpret that he has to have a interlock device for 10 YEARS! is there any way we can get state of maine to change conditions on lisence? He has clean record since dwi.

I do not know Alaska's laws. You need to consult a local attorney. If he has satisfied Maine's legal requirements for reinstatement, then he can get his license in another state. Each state has their own requirements for licensure, and apparently, Alaska requires an interlock device. Maine has no such requirement. Good luck!
