Once you are convicted, they can enforce the judgment, including any fine or any requirements that you need to complete in order to restore your privilege to drive in Maine. If you never came back to court, then they can still prosecute you, and 1 of 2 things may have occurred: either you were convicted in your absence; or the court issued a warrant for your arrest due to your failure to appear, in which case you would also be charged with the crime of failure to appear. If you don't plan on having trouble at the border, and if you want to clean this up, the best thing is to contact the district attorney's office where the case is being prosecuted.
