Re: child support
I would need more information about the judgment declaring him to be the father of the child. If the judgment is found to be valid, the Maine Child support enforcement agency can take his tax returns according to federal law because he owes back child support payments. He may be able to get the amount of his payments reduced depending on his income. He may also be able to fight the judgment regarding paternity if there are jurisdiction issues or if he was served notice improperly, but I can't assess that unless I speak with you or get into more detail. If you would like to speak with me about this or schedule a free consultation, please call me at (603) 594-8300. Thank you. Cathy Shanelaris
