family law

I have been recently involved in an airplane accident and have a broken hip, I am only 2 weeks into recuperation, with a couple months left at least, and unemployed obviously. last week my husband left me, i remain in the heavily mortgaged home. with no children. under these circumstances, can he be compelled to support me financially until I heal?

Re: family law

The short answer is probably "yes". The long answer is that it will in part depend if he has a job, the timing of when you file for divorce, how long the marriage was, etc. The injury you have suffered has caused you hardship and his vacating the premises and virtually guaranteeing a foreclosure of the marital property at worst is misconduct and at best makes you a sympathetic party in the eyes of the Court. I think you have a good chance of at least temporary support.

It also sounds to me like you have a personal injury claim that relates to this issue and I would be willing to discuss both further if you wish to contact me for more information.
