Legal Question in Family Law in Maine

gay relationship 7 years 2 properties

Moved to Maine 1 year ago in property (2unitlive in 1 rent other) bought by fathers inheritance, no mortgage. My parter put my name on the Deed when property was purchased 2 years ago. We also own property in Ca. we are both on the Mortgage which is going through eviction. She has decided she wants out of relationship. She has had paperwork drawn up for me to sign of title. I told her I will not sign off title until she has signed Ca. house to me. We have all joint saving and checking accounts. I have been paying Ca. Mortgage for 2 months $888.00 with $1200 per month income and trying to save enough money to get back to Ca. I asked her for half rental income and for her to make half of Ca mortgage payment until matters are settled with homes, I also stated I will not leave until matters are settled. She is paying here bills out of rental account and I have not our personal account for 6 weeks. I told we could sell both properties and split profit and she went balistic. Do I need an attorney? And what rights do I have as far as income from rental and her paying half of Mortgage?

I rarely, if ever, suggest that a lawyer must be involved. Most situations can be resolved with reasonable decisions by the parties. Unfortunately, there are often strong emotions involved, so that it can be difficult to make a "business" decision. In addition, one or both parties may have an unrealistic understanding of what their legal rights actually are.

Your situation would likely benefit with the assistance of a lawyer. (Or two, one for each of you) From the information you presented I am not able to assess the specifics of the situation.
