Legal Question in Family Law in Maine

I'm moving from CT to ME. Must I modify our visitation schedule?

My daughter is four years old and I, the mother have physical custody here in the state of CT. We are planning a move to Maine in two weeks. Am I obligated to modify this arrangement through the court here in CT? I want to change the week long visits during school holidays and the summer months to more frequent but shorter visits until she reaches the age of 7 or 8. It has proved to be a difficult transition for my four year old. Since we are moving closer to her father's home, I would also like him to have the responsibility to pick up and drop her off at our house (about an hour and a half drive). This would also help my daughter emotionally during the ''switch'' every other weekend. I'd also like to know how likely it would be for a judge to accept modifications to the visitation agreement based on my daughter's father's mental and emotional illness--I'd like someone responsible to be with him when he picks up and drops off my daughter. Can I motion for a modification in Maine courts once I move?

Need more facts to give proper answer. Does the child's father live in Maine? Maine will address the visitation issue, but depending upon objections from father, it could take you 6 months to get an alteration to your agreement due to jurisdictional issues.
