Legal Question in Family Law in Maine

My Parents are going through a very nasty divorce and my Dad now lives with me and pays rent. My Mom has threatened to come after me because she says he can not legally pay me rent. Is this true? I look at it as having a roommate that pays for his cost of living. She is angry because she wants to take every penny he has. Do you know of any Violations in Maine? It is a house and he sleeps above the garage which i have already cleared with the city to be completely legal.
