Legal Question in Family Law in Maine
I have been separated from my husband 7 months. He has not paid on our mortgage since he moved out and he is on the note. He purchased a new vehicle today and I need to know if I am going to be financially responsible for 1/2 of this loan when we get divorced. I am not on his loan for this vehicle. I do not have any money - my father had to buy my groceries while my husband is taking golfing trips, hunting trips and buying a new vehicle.

What haven't you filed for divorce yet?
The court will have to decide if you're responsible for his car loan -- but because you were separated, you probably won't be responsible. But you should make the separation official by filing for divorce. He also should be responsible for helping you with the mortgage.
