Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maine
were can a paralegal represent a client
i am in college and am doing a paper on were a paralegal can and cannot represent a client specifically states and areas of the government. i had heard that in california they were trying to set it up for representation could be for simple cases though thier really arent enough to really put this in play. however either way i was wondering if thier were any other states that had made this attempt

In Maine, a person can represent themselves, or a licensed attorney can represent, but that is it. A parapglegal cannot appear in Court on behalf of a client, and a paralegal can assist a client with legal matters only under the supervision of an attorney.
