Legal Question in International Law in Maine

Online Auction Fraud

I contacted someone selling a computer from Romania through eBay. He agreed to sell me the computer for $1300, paying half before shipment and half after I had received it. I paid via wire transfer and he claimed to have shipped the computer. However, he did not ship it and was trying to sell it to 2 other people. He will no longer respond to my emails and has clearly committed fraud. Because he is in another country, does this prevent me from getting my money back?

Re: Online Auction Fraud

Contact eBay. Part of their service is fraud protection. In future, you might also consider using the optional escrow service, which is a very cheap form of insurance as well.

Best wishes,
