tenants rights

if me my husband and our two daughters moved into my mother in laws house and pay 500.00 a month without missing a payment. can she just throw us out or does she have to evict us she rents out the other half of her house as well its a duplex i just would like to know my rights if that would ever happen

You can likely claim that a "tenancy at will" exists, and therefor she would need to go through the proper procedure to evict you. If you are considered a tenant at will you do have rights, but may not be able to completely prevent eviction.
