Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maine

Bond for deed

I am the seller of property in a bond for deed agreement. The buyer has failed to meet the financial commitment and I want to evict him. What are my legal rights and how do I go about doing this?

Re: Bond for deed

The Bond for a Deed type of financing is quite dependent upon the language of the actual document between you. Essentially, if the tenant is in breach, he can be evicted just as if a foreclosure of a mortgage or as if a rental tenant were being evicted, but a Bond for a Deed is an unusual method so a more specific answer cannot be given without reviewing the actual document.
