Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maine
condominium bylaws
I have owned a condo unit which consists of a trailer and the land it sits on. Our bylaws state we can put a 30' trailer in our spot. These were document in the condomium documents in 1985. We want to replace our trailer with a new one and our condo board states we can not put in a 30' because our present trailer is only about 26'. We bought this piece of real estate in 1987 and this was part of our understanding at the time of the sale. can the condo board deny us?

Re: condominium bylaws
This depends on on the exact language of the Bylaws and the Declaration. If these documents say 30' feet, then they can't stop you. But if there is other language or stipulations, then they may be able to.
I would be happy to look over these documents for you. Feel free to contact me about this.
