Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maine
co-ownership
My mother and aunt co own a cottage in maine. When it comes to repairs and maintenance there sometimes are disagreements. Is there an agreement that can be drawn up that states that all repairs over a certain amount have to be agreed by both parties and if the are done with out agreement one party takes responsibility for all cost.

Re: co-ownership
Yes- an agreement stating just that can be drawn up, I would guess for about a total of 2 hours or so of a lawyer's time. However, the lawyer can only represent 1 of them, so the other may want to have another lawyer look at it to be sure it covers all of her concerns.
