deed discrepancy

On side of a property line is defined as being 270' from one iron post to another in our deed,but 270' goes past an iron post and onto someone else's property.The other person's deed only refers to our iron posts with no referals to footage.The footage from one iron post to the disputed post in 200'.Do we go by the footage amounts in the deed or the referred to posts?
