Re: Real Estate
Tenants in Common means that the legal ownership of the real estate is held in legally divisible parts. The most practical outcome of this type of ownership is that the interest in the real estate will pass at the death of one of the owners according to that owner's Will.
The other usual way for real estate to be held is Joint Tenancy, which is not legally divisible, and upon the passing of one owner, that owner's interest will pass to the surviving owner, and not be in any way affected by the deceased owner's Will.
