Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maine
Rental property
Is a renter responsible to replace an old carpet if a stain occurs during a weeks vacation rental and the owner says it cannot be removed? If so, will my homeowners policy cover this?

Re: Rental property
If the owner refuses the offer to replace, the only result is an attempted cleaning. As to the policy, it depends on the language.

Re: Rental property
You should first look at the rental agreement. Most likely you will have to pay for it as it is not normal wear and tear. As to your homeowners policy, you will need to look at that - or call the company and ask them.
