Sexually Harrassed By Bill Collector?

I am in a collection agency for a credit card that will actually be paid by the end of the month. Just prior to making this arrangement, the man handling my account left the following message on my answering service, ''Yeah, I'm getting a hummer....... by a male prostitute............ hello? Hello?'' He then called my name indicating he thought it was an answering machine and that if home, I might come to the phone. He makes a comment to someone in the background about getting my work info to call me there and then says ''we need to start setting these people up for Saturdays''.

Is that really acceptable? I am thankful my daughter did not get the messages that day. I would have preferred to have not heard that myself. I called them and the man was extremely rude, dismissed my complaints saying that ''it was not meant for me, it happens'' and only wanted to discuss my overdue account. I asked to speak to someone higher in management and he refused me telling me repeatedly that the conversation was probably not meant for me.

I have this message saved in my voice mail as well as saved onto a cassette tape. Is there anything I can do about this?

absolutely, you have several causes of action and should make this person and company pay for such blatant intentional or reckless transmissions on your home answering machine. feel free to contact me with more facts and hopefully we can get this illegal and unfortunate matter resolved in your favor asap, especially if you have his comments on tape.
