Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Maine
I live in MA but currently have temporary co-guardianship and co-conservatorship of my father in ME (with my half brother). I no longer want to pursue any sort of permanent custody but we have a hearing set for next month. If I simply don't attend the hearing, will I be in any legal trouble? (my half brother is planning to attend)

If this is the routine hearing set to convert a temporary to longer-term or permanent guardianship, you probably would not be in trouble for not attending, but the best course of action is to write a letter to the Court and copy your half brother to explain your desires and reason for not attending. It is possible that without any information from you, the Court could take some action at the hearing that is inconsistant with your desire to no longer be involved.
