Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Maine

Is my NY Living Will legal in Maine

I just moved from New York to Maine this year. Within this year, I purchased a home in Maine. I need to be assured that my home will now be assigned to my designee, if something were to happen to me

Your home will not pass under a living will. It would pass via intestacy to family (if there is no Will), by joint tenancy to whomever is on the deed jointly to you, or to your beneficiary under a Maine Will if Maine is where you now reside.

A Living Will (Power of Attorney for Healthcare) or financial POA are separate documents from your Will, but you may also want to consider them in your planning.
