Could you please explaiin what a dramshop law is?

It is a law that places liablility on the owner of an establishment that sells alcoholic beverages where the customer has an alohol related accident.

That is when the facility that is serving the alcohol is liable in an alcohol related incident. A bartender is not allowed to serve alcohol to a person who is clearly intoxicated. This makes them liable.
