Legal Question in DUI Law in Maryland

Fta dui warrant for arrest

What happens when you have a FTA DUI? What is normally the punishment for FTA? On top of the FTA DUI the same case has charged me with Negligent driving failure to provide liscence on demand, driving without required adult supervision and failure to provide Registration on demand. What could my punishment be?

Re: Fta dui warrant for arrest

For DUI cases where the court date was missed, it is a good idea to consult with a lawyer about filing a motion to remove any open arrest warrant and to set the matter in for trial, or for the lawyer to coordinate to be available for a bond hearing if the commissioner sets a bond that the defendant cannot pay.

In the counties where I practice, I don't see failures to appear being prosecuted much, but don't know enough about your individual situation. The remaining tickets you mention do not look to be jailable ones.

The key is for you to find a lawyer for assistance.

Re: Fta dui warrant for arrest

You could potentially be arrested at any time and held with a bond that you cannot afford until trial. You should definitely get a lawyer to attempt to get rid of that warrant and then represent you at trial.

The failure to appear tends to bring scrutiny from the judge for other charges. Without knowing more about the arrest and the charges it is difficult to say. Contact me to discuss.
