Legal Question in Disability Law in Maryland

My father was the borrower and I the co borrower for a vehicle, I had the vehicle from 8/08 until 02/10 making all payments myself, and paying for all maintenance, I gave the car back to him at his request when I lost my job and couldn't afford it, he is now trying to sue me for a little over 17,000.00$ claiming the balance of the loan which makes no sense and was no where near that amount and I traded in my other vehicle for a $6000 down payment and I paid 10,000$ for it losing $4000, and for what he claims he's paid since Jan 2010 nearly 4000$. I signed my name off the title and received notice from the mva the title had been transferred. How can he sue me for a vehicle that he wanted back and still has?

He is likely not suing you for the vehicle, but for repayment of the loan payments you missed and any related interest and fees.

Best of luck.*****The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.*******
