Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Maryland
I 1st filed a chapt 13. Wanted to keep my home. But I had no work so couldn't make the payment. We converted to chapt 7. I filed chpter 7 and was discharged in Dec. But my lawyer had a heart attack and I in the midst of it all I couldn'y pay him too and had to do this on my own in the end. I wanted to keep my home and missed the chance to respond to the lender's request for a stay. So they are auctioning my home. Well now I have work and can possibly make the mortgage payments. Can O stop the house sale on Friday and re-open my chapter 7 so I can do something to stay in the home for this particular purpose. Thanks! I would really appreciate talking to someone this is happening on Friday!

Reopening the 7 won't do it, but unless there was something unusual about your prior case, you can now file a Chapter 13 in order to stop the foreclosure and cure the arrearages. See a bankruptcy lawyer (myself or another experienced bankruptcy lawyer) immediately, as the case has to be filed before the foreclosure date.
