Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Maryland
bankruptcy and school loans
If I declare bankruptcy will I have to continue paying my perkins and stafford school loans or will I be able to include them in the debt to be removed through filing bankruptcy?

Generally, student loans are not dischargeable in bankruptcy. There is an exception when the bankruptcy judge rules that repayment of the loan would impose an undue hardship on the debtor and the debtor's dependents. Otherwise, student loans still must be repaid following a bankruptcy.
