Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Maryland
Chapter 7?
I filed bankruptcy in 1995. At that time, I believed that the length of time the chapter 7 bankruptcy would stay on my credit report was seven years. Is this true? Has the length of time a bankruptcy remains on a consumer's credit report ever changed?
Thank you.

Re: Chapter 7?
It stays on a credit report for 10 years. That's been the same since the Fair Credit Reporting Act was enacted.
