Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Maryland

Clean start bankruptcy

I recently filed chapter 7, i decided to try to sell my house instead of being foreclosed on, i have a buyer and need to move within three weeks, i have tried to rent an apartment, everyone is turning me down stating because i filed bankruptcy I don't meet the criteria for the dwelling. How do I get my so-called clean start?

Re: Clean start bankruptcy

Your clean start will occur after you begin to re-establish

your credit just as you did when you began as a youth. You'll

need co-signers, deposits, a payment history, and all the other

things that one needs to demonstrate creditworthiness. Just because

you filed a Chapter 7 does not mean that you are free of the debts

that once saddled you and now are free to begin where you left off.

At this point you have no credit, the lessors see you as they would a

teen-ager starting out.

Unfortunately, Maryland law limits the amount of money that can be kept

on deposit. Up to two months is the limit. What you need is a guarantor who

will guarantee your payments (i.e., a co-signer).
