Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Maryland
conversion from chpt13 to a chpt7
I need to know if I can personally file a petition to convert my chpt 13 to a chpt 7. My attorney is not responding to my request. I cannot afford another attorney. Is there a time frame at which you must remain in chpt 13 status? Which form do I use and how do I approach this issue?
Thank You,

You can discharge your lawyer and do it yourself, but that would not be advisable. Even the decision as to whether to convert the case to a Ch. 7 or to dismiss the case and refile may have major implications as to what you can keep. If your lawyer won't help, get another lawyer.
