Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Maryland
Cost of bankruptcy
How much does it generally cost to file for bankruptcy for an individual with credit card debt, a couple of judgements against him. With the judgements being from California?
Thanks

Re: Cost of bankruptcy
A straightforward Chapter 7 Bankruptcy may cost around $750. Of course the court fees are separate. TTA

The filing fee is $200 for a chapter 7. Lawyers fees vary, but to an extent you get what you pay for. The fact of the judgments being from CA should not make a difference. You should generally expect to pay attorneys fees of a little less than $1000.
