Have to file bankruptcy but ex-husband owes past-due alimony
I have to file bankruptcy but my ex-husband owes me past-due alimony. Will I be able to file without having to sue him first for the past-due alimony?

Sure. The alimony owed to you will be an asset of the bankruptcy estate unless you can exempt it, and the trustee may try to collect it to pay your creditors, but it will not affect your ability to file.
