Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Maryland
i have just signed my petition for a chapter 7 bankruptcy. before i filed i asked my veterans affairs rep. if i needed to disclose my monthly compensation as income when filing and he said no. so i did not but i am scared now that if the trustee asks to see my bank statement they will see that i recieve a compensation check every month. so should i have told my lawyer or no?

You should have told your lawyer (do not keep ANYTHING from your lawyer), and in fact you should have included it on your schedules and means test. It is not social security, so it is not excluded from income. You need to amend to include it right away.
