Legal Question in Business Law in Maryland
Account paid in full, lien released.
Purchased a vehicle, paid it off via an automated phone service offered by the company. I received my title, pink slip, documentation stating account is paid in full, and that the lien has been removed from the vehicle. No money was ever removed from my account. I have recently received statements that I owe late fees, the phone transfer fee of the money, and 2 months of charges on the account. I also have a voicemail asking me to call back, that it is important.
My questions are, should I call them back? Should I make another payment? Should I pay late fees and transfer of funds fees when my original payment wasn't late, and the transfer didn't happen? Am I responsible for paying on an account that is paid in full? Thank you.

Re: Account paid in full, lien released.
First of all, you need to verify with MVA that the lien has been released from the vehicle. Then you should write to the creditor and send copies of the documentation you received that the loan has been paid in full. You want to be proactive because you don't want the creditor to put anything negative in your credit record.
