Legal Question in Business Law in Maryland
If an auto care shop takes my money to put an engine in my car, but delays over 30 days to get it done, cant tell me when it will be done, refuse to get me a rental, and wont give me a refund, what can I do?

It sounds like they've started the installation and are dragging their feet on finishing the job. Also, you probably have nothing in writing guaranteeing the job would be finished by a specific date. If you want to take the car to another shop, this shop will insist on being paid for its parts and labor, and you'll end up paying more at the second shop. Theoretically you could sue them for the difference between your overall cost and what they were going to charge you, but you would spend a lot of time and money with no guarantee of recovery.
